South Bend Public House

A CAN’T MISS spot in South Bend!! At the last minute my husband, 4.5yo daughter and I decided to visit SB, IN for Memorial Day Weekend. We saw this place in the same lot as the Dino museum and decided to check it out. SO GLAD WE DID!! We had a late lunch so my husband and I split the Truffle Mushroom Swiss burger and it was PHENOMENAL!! Actually he was so sad we split he ordered a second one and ate half and took the other half to go! The house made ranch we got with the fries was perfection. The 3 Floyd’s seasonal lager we got was GREAT. Light, crisp but plenty of flavor! The atmosphere was amazing!! The reclaimed metal, picnic benches, and little ‘houses’ for outdoor dining with the twinkle lights and surrounded by greenery were too perfect. The service was SO friendly (ask for Mike! ) The burger took a little longer to come than we might have thought but it was not crazy long and it was SO WORTH IT! (Plus, I think we all could slow down a little these days, agree?? ) 100% 5 stars absolutely recommend!!! We will definitely be back!! Also, you may be wondering if you watched my video, why does it look so empty if it’s so good? A few reasons: 1– they had live music from 3-5 and it was pretty packed but we didn’t arrive til after 6 and it was a Sunday so they closed at 8. So the crowds had kinda cleared from the event and it wasn’t too long before close. 2- they are NEW!! Just opened in September 2024 so clearly the word needs to get out about this place!! 3- it’s in the same lot as the Dino museum and chocolate museum/tours but there isn’t much else nearby (even though it’s extremely easy to get to and plenty of parking!) so I’m sure people just haven’t ‘found’ it yet! Make sure to stop in before the word gets out and the wait gets crazy!

My friend invited me to go with her to listen to her friend sing. It was a lot of fun. Our food took a long time as they were very busy. The manager was very sweet and came out to talk to us. She gave us a huge discount! The music and Atmosphere was wonderful. Our server Margaret was pleasant! The outdoor dining setting is gorgeous! We will definitely come back. Great vibe! Thanks Public House for a nice evening!

Everything was amazing!! Burgers were to die for. Chef Brandon made the biggest mound of street corn tots we ever saw. Cori the waitress was great. We definitely be going back soon! Pub cups were a big hit.

We were in town for a business trip and happened to drive by South Bend Public House, it looked like a great spot with an open, welcoming atmosphere, so we decided to stop in. We’re so glad we did! Our server, Vanessa, was outstanding. She was incredibly patient, answered all of our questions, and was attentive from start to finish. What really made the experience stand out was when Chef Chris personally came out to check on our table. He talked with us about how our food was prepared and made sure everything was up to our liking. That level of care is rare and truly appreciated. Great food, amazing service, and a relaxed, inviting vibe. South Bend Public House made a great impression. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in town!

Everything was absolutely phenomenal! The food is delicious and the customer service is amazing! They even have vegan/vegetarian options. Also, they offered many pup cups. We can't wait to go back!

Great atmosphere. Our server Monalisa was kind and constantly checked on us. Food was amazing! I tried the dip trio and upside-down mushroom Swiss burger with bacon. It did not disappoint. I'm usually not a fan of live music, but it wasn't too loud. And I actually enjoyed the band.

Awesome new restaurant in South Bend. Best hot honey chicken sandwich and tots, decent beer selection and nice atmosphere. Live entertainment on the weekends. There is much to do here including The Indiana dinosaur museum, South bend chocolate factory, South bend farms, walking trails, and more. Well worth the visit.

DEEEELISH!! We weren't sure because of the low number of reviews, but it was just opened 2 weeks ago, and it was great! Ambiance is good too, we enjoyed the outdoor seating. We all had burgers and they were all great! Great portions, very friendly staff as well
